I was on the phone with a girlfriend the other day, and she, having been divorced for a few years, asked me about apps – stating that she has never gone on them. Then, she asked if I had. I said yes, though it was brief.
It was one summer for a month, and one of my best girlfriends was my ghost app-er. She answered all the questions and DMs for me. For the most part, we considered it our entertainment — but in the back of my head, there was a little bit of “ya never know…”. The truth is, I went on the apps to show myself and the universe (eye roll) that I was ready and willing to get out there. In other words, put my money (and my effort) where my mouth was.
That said, I went on a grand total of one date. With an anti-vaxxer. At the tail end of COVID. And It was not great. For obvious reasons, but also because my girlfriend, who was managing my account and responses, had sent me on the wrong date!
