My favourite line: 'I had to rewire my brain to fetishize kindness and openess over toxicity' If only all women could do this, instead of chasing trauma-bonding 😃
I am the biggest fan of Stephanie’s writing. After I read Sweetbitter I went hunting for more of her work and saw so much of myself in her memoir. It’s comforting to see her in an era of contentment and I somehow feel more steady when she acknowledges that it all could be fleeting.
The bits about regret… and the forgiving of oneself. And the love that sneaks up on you. And how it all leads to where you’re meant to be, who you’re meant to be. The sheer beauty of it. I so needed to read this today. ✨
I’m a big fan of Stephanie’s work and I enjoyed reading this. Curious as to where you read about the three loves we get in life? Sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing.
"As suspected, by the end of the Camino, I was exactly the same and still in a ton of pain and unable to forgive myself for what I did to my ex." --> way to raise my hopes and dash them in one paragraph! For two sentences I almost opened a separate browser tab and booked my own Camino getaway. Would love a magic solution of my own to get rid of romantic regret, but the conclusion to this piece is beautiful. Our mistakes are part of the stories of who we become.

You nailed it. We are so wired to believe that crazy obsession and pain is love. It's not. Kindness. Laughter. Consistency. That's love.

Contentment and fleeting. I couldn't agree more. I had the same feeling when she shared her story with me.
Loved this!
Thank you!!

It's the love that sneaks up on you that everyone needs to remember, sometimes it happens when you least expect it... ✨
This was lovely, Colleen, thank you 🥰
Thank you!! She is quite the inspiration

Hi Gigi! Stephanie is next-level inspiring! Next week I'll be exploring the topic of three loves -- stay tuned!
I definitely will
This was fascinating. Admirably candid
Thank you! Stephanie is as brilliantly candid as they come - I could not agree more!
